The Author

As well as freelance commission work, lightertaylor is known for her love of fiction, and is published in two separate works – Poetopia and Spine Chillers.

This is some of her work.

“The woodland rolled away into a glade, the curled bracken and alpine grass fading away into sandy dunes and bristled shrubs. Beyond, the flaxen beach; damp and dark with the ever-moving waves, each cycle leaving translucent pools of white foam, which fizzled and dissipated into the next rush of water.

Shadows like knives striped across the silt from ivory ribs, protruding from the ground and, descending into the tide, eventually swallowed by the sea.” – an extract from Basalt and Ash.

“Vast and yet claustrophobic, the copse became thick with vegetation – honey mushrooms and clawed grapevines, crested lotus blossoms and blistered laurels – and though the ocean waves called softly to them, the sea was nowhere in sight.” – an extract from Basalt and Ash.

“Her face was aspen, knotted and split in several places, the grain running over and back behind her serpentine eyes and beneath her carved lips. When she spoke, it was a breath of wind on a spring evening, “You left the wrong woman behind.” – an extract from Basalt and Ash.

“Before the universe, there was primitive chaos. It spat planets and stars and heavenly bodies from its cold bowels, and yet Life chose to settle on only a select few surfaces. Powerful entities spawned from the primordial forces of Life and Death, giving vital essence to the silent space.” – an extract from Obscuritas.
